(More about) what I do

I believe it is often the unexpected and unplanned moments that really capture the spirit of an event.

Starting with over two years of regular photography for Digital Leadership Forum in London, I honed techniques on getting the best shots of speakers, and dealing with tricky lighting in unusual venues.

While I can certainly do the classic ‘delegates smiling to camera with a glass of bubbly’ shot, I love to focus (excuse the pun) on spotting and capturing the expressions and energy of people unawares, which I believe helps create a greater sense of authenticity and engagement.

I enjoy a fast turnaround, with selecting and supplying images by the next day, so you can optimise your publicity and outreach on social channels.

I’m also a fan of capturing Behind The Scenes (BTS) moments of advertising shoots. Having worked as an art director in advertising and filmmaking myself for two decades, I know first-hand the value of BTS for engaging clients and creating case studies. I also know trying to capture BTS properly when you are supposed to be directing the shoot is a big distraction from your core task, and having a dedicated BTS photographer can really take a weight off.

I can provide a custom package to suit your budget, including video coverage if desired. Please take a look around the site, and feel free to check out my full creative portfolio at www.bvg.nz.
